2/17/12 - OFF TO VEGAS

Today the 17's team leaves town to compete in the Las Vegas Classic over the holiday weekend. We ask that parents take heed with the warning sent to us earlier today:

" Please remember that since the event is reseeded following round 1, the majority of teams will not be able to determine their playing sites on Sunday, until all play is complete on Saturday. Once the event has been reseeded, the sites and pools will be uploaded to AES on Saturday night."

The tournament is being organized through an organization called "Advanced Event Systems" but you have to set up an account with their site to see anything. The SCVA also put together a flow chart and schedule for the first day. I did my best to put together a tourney info page for the 17s with instructions from the hotel to the first playing site.

2/9/12 - 18s QUALIFIER DAY 3 POSTED

We just got the e-mail from the SCVA and have posted the tournament information for the 17's tournament this weekend.

The athletic director at Alemany also put together a gym schedule for the first couple weeks of February and so team calendars have been updated to reflect those changes. We knew February was going to be a difficult month from a scheduling stand point because both of Alemany's basketball teams are poised to make deep runs into the playoffs.

2/6/12 - FEBRUARY SCHEDULE COMING SOON

We knew February would be rough with the schedule because both the boys and girls basketball programs at Alemany are set to make a long playoff run. With the uncertainty associated with a playoff schedule, the athletic director at Alemany is doing his best to provide us with a gym schedule in the next couple days, so please check the website daily for more information.

In other news, the 14s finished first in their pool over the weekend placing them near the top of the Flight I division and guaranteeing an increase of nearly 80 spots from the preseason ranking. Great job girls!

I just finished up a Masters' class and have a bit of free time tomorrow to mess around with pictures and photobucket, so expect to see some changes on Tuesday morning!

2/2/12 - 14s QUALIFIER DAY 3 INFO

I have updated the Tournament Info page for the 14 year olds to show the logistics for the tournament this Saturday February 4th.

Congratulations to the 17's who went undefeated last Sunday in day 2 of the Qualifier. Their play has earned them a guaranteed spot in the bronze division and the possibility of moving up over a hundred spots from the preseason rankings! On Monday I will update the website with results from all the tournaments so far.

1/25/12 - 18s QUALIFIER DAY 2 INFO

The SCVA sent out a schedule for day 2 of the 18s division for this weekend. As always, this tournament schedule is subject to change and this one could be especially tricky since there is a half marathon in Anaheim on Sunday. The marathon has forced the pools at ASC to start at 11am instead of 8am.

In other news, I will update the 14s results section soon to give a synopsis of the events this past weekend. We were left with a pleasant surprise however when we found out that our 14s took 2nd in the pool instead of 3rd which should keep us in the copper division. There will be more updates on that soon!

1/18/12 - 14s QUALIFIER DAY 2 TOURNEY INFO RELEASED!

The SCVA provided club directors with a preliminary schedule for the 14s tournament this weekend. We have posted updated information in the Tournament Information section of the website. Using a bit of good people skills, we were able to secure an afternoon pool so that all of our players can take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on Saturday morning and scuddle down to Anaheim for some afternoon volleyball!

Again, we go into the pool ranked 4th, but we feel confident in our ability to outshine our expectations!

1/16/12 - 14s QUALIFIER DAY 2

On Saturday, January 21st, the 14s team will compete in the 2nd day of the Qualifier Tournament. Like the last time, the SCVA still has not given us any information concerning the logistics of the tournament so we'll check a few times per day and send out the information as soon as possible. You can follow any updates for the tournament here. I will update the Tournament Information page as soon as any information is released.

We distributed our first batch of fundraising letters today and have created a "results" section for both teams where you can go to check out the latest scores and updates.
